Web 2.0 Tools

Web 2. tools I think are very useful. Especially when it comes to science. There are some experiments that are just too much to do in the classroom but to have a tool that would enable us to do the experiment on the web is great. They can allow the students to have more fun in the classroom while still learning. Of course there are some tweaks that need to be made to make them more effective but they are on the way to being a great asset in the classroom. I would like to see more ideas of where they are going with science. I do feel science is better learned hands on but there are limitations to that and I think the web 2.0 tools can unblock those limitations.

I do remember coming across a program that was available that you could do a complete dissection of a frog or pig. Although this one is expensive... I do think there was one that might have been free. http://www.froguts.com/flash_content/index.html
I would definitely use more things that were science, engineering and math related when it comes to web 2.0.

Yeah, there's a number of virtual dissections available. There's a really great virtual Bacteria Identification lab available for free at http://www.hhmi.org/biointeractive/vlabs/bacterial_id/index.html.

It’s interesting that you said that Web 2.0 tools are useful for science. I am taking a chemistry course online and I’m interested to see if the professor will use any Web 2.0 tools. I agree that science is better learned when students can be hands. What kinds of tools do you think you could use to science lessons? Have you used any tools for science classes that you have taken?
